Laurie Whyte, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
I am a single parent of two young adults with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and mental health challenges, and for more than 20 years I have been deeply connected to the disability community. Through this work and lived experience, I have found great meaning in supporting others—particularly parents and caregivers who may be navigating challenging behaviours and the emotional complexities that often accompany them.
This passion, along with my commitment to advocacy and connection, led me to pursue a Master of Counselling Psychology. My personal and professional experiences continue to shape the way I show up in my work, with empathy, curiosity, and respect for the resilience it takes to care for others while caring for yourself.
I place a high value on community and connection, whether through traditional family relationships or the meaningful bonds we build with chosen family and friends. Outside of my work, I enjoy walking my dog, playing games with my daughter, baking, and spending quality time with the people I love.

I hold a Bachelor and Master of Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, as well as a Bachelor and Master of Arts from the University of Waterloo.
